Why volunteer with us?

 

Make a positive impact in someone's life, learn new skills and make great friends. Spend time outdoors in a beautiful country setting, learn about therapy horses and make a positive contribution to your community!

Requirements

​​​​

• 14 years old min.

• Must be comfortable around horses, however experience is not necessary

• Must be comfortable working with people with different abilities.

• General good physical condition; must be able to walk briskly for approximately 40 minutes (occasional short bursts of jogging)

• Must be available minimum of 1 day weekly / bi-weekly for 1-2 hours 

• Must be able to commit to at least one session per year (eight to ten weeks per session).

Volunteer Orientation 

​

We offer regular volunteer orientation visits.  During your visit, you can tour the facility and grounds, meet our instructors, horses and other volunteers. Visitors can get a sense of our lessons / therapy sessions and see volunteers in action. 

​

Volunteer Training Clinics 

 

We provide regular and ongoing volunteer training clinics, which include hands-on practice so you can acquire new skills.
